Your Article Writing Tip for the Day!

Welcome to Day 12 of the Lieurance-King Spring 2009 Article Challenge!

Here’s our tip for the day:

It’s always fun to see where your articles are being used online.

One way to find out this information is to do a google search for the title of your article(s).

Google SearchYou’ll need to wait a few days after you’ve posted an article, then type in the title of your piece in the google search engine.

Another, easier way to find your articles is to create a “google alert” for your title(s).

To do that, go to:

http://www.google.com/alerts

Each time your article appears on the Internet, within a few days you’ll receive a google alert to let you know where it has appeared.

Have a great article writing day!

Article Challenge Success Story From Fall 2007 Winner Diane McLain

Diane McLain completed the Fall 2007 LK Article Challenge and recently had this to say about her experience:

I have to tell you a wonderful outcome of the fall challenge. When I wrote for the fall challenge I was inspired to do a blog and website about changing the world. My job got even more stressful after that time and I did nothing with the idea. I met an IT man recently and told him my idea. He liked it so much he said he would help me put up a blog. He thinks the world needs something like this to inspire them to take action. Anyway, I am going to an internet seminar on the 21st and I would like to promote my blog and website there. If it had not been for your fall challenge to inspire me to write, I would have not had enough time to get it all together. Because I had it all written, I will have enough time to be prepared for the seminar. I owe you a huge THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay, Diane! Thanks for sharing with us. :)

Lieurance-King Article Challenge Frequently Asked Questions

Still not sure what this whole Article Challenge thing is about? Check out the frequently asked questions. Feel free to add your other questions as a comment so everyone can share in the learning.  Mmm, learning…

Q: What is article marketing?
A: Article marketing is using your expertise in a particular subject to build a platform and gain attention for your business, products, and services by submitting brief original articles to free article directories. As e-zine, website, and newsletter editors read and reuse your content, you get free publicity and visibility in new audiences and markets. Each article takes only a few minutes to write, but it will keep working for you indefinitely with no extra work on your part. Think of it as a tiny, no-cost sales force singing your praises 24/7/365.

Q: Giving stuff away for free seems counterintuitive. Does this really work?
A: We’re not talking feature-length articles here, more like 300-word previews of what you can do for your potential clients. The time commitment is minimal, but the returns can be huge if you’re consistent and you provide quality content. In other words, yes, it really does work.

Q: Why should I join the LK Article Challenge?
A: The Article Challenge is geared for folks who are just getting started with article marketing or those who may have some experience but could use a boost and the motivation to keep at it. By setting a specific goal for each Challenge (usually 30 articles each time) and providing lots of personal support and encouragement, the Challenge hosts and the participants all help one another to achieve personal goals and work toward receiving the Golden PJs Award by meeting the Challenge goal. If you want to use article marketing more effectively and more consistently, the Challenge is for you.

Q: How does the Challenge work?
A: When you sign up for the Article Challenge at www.lkarticlechallenge.com, you’ll receive a free e-book called 21 Tips: A 21-Day Course in Effective Article Marketing and an invitation to join the Challenge e-mail discussion group. Participating in the group is recommended but NOT mandatory. All you have to do to participate in the Challenge is write and submit articles for article directories. Any articles submitted before 11:59 p.m. EST (GMT-5) on the last day of the Challenge count toward your Challenge total. Those meeting the goal will receive a Golden PJs graphic for their website or blog, and all participants will receive a certificate of participation.

Wrapping Up the Fall Challenge and Looking Forward to the New Year’s Article Challenge in January!

Looking Forward to New Writing Success in 2008!Congratulations again to our winning Challengers! We are so proud of you, and we’re also proud of everyone who participated. Whether you wrote one article or 100, accepting the LK Fall Article Challenge was a step toward greater success in your writing career.

The winners will receive their Golden PJs via e-mail later this week. Because everything is so hectic with the holidays coming up, and because attendance has been low lately, we’re going to forgo the tele-ceremony this time around and instead do a KILLER kick-off for the New Year’s Article Challenge.

The next Challenge will kick off on January 17 and run through February 19, and you’ll be challenged to write 30 articles to earn a Golden PJs. But this time around, with so many experienced article marketers in the group, we’re going to emphasize the strategy behind article marketing and how you can monetize your efforts. And that, my lovelies, is the whole point! Writing articles is fun, but we want to get paid, too, not just write for free. :] We’ll help you figure out how to best use your existing and new articles to make some moolah and move your writing career forward.

You can expect article series on the blog, regular blog features, and focused, encouraging disucssion on our Yahoo! Group e-mail conversation list as an added bonus. Signing up will also net you an e-book version of the 21-Day Article Writing E-course, currently in production.

So use the sign-in box at the top of the screen to register for the New Year’s Article Challenge, and we’ll send you your e-book just as soon as it’s finished. And start thinking NOW about your writing goals for 2008. Suzanne and I are here to help you achieve them with the help of our awesome designated discussion list leader and co-blogger Hope Wilbanks and incredible article marketing expert Jeff Herring.

We can’t wait to help you reach your career goals next year! Enjoy your break, and don’t stop writing!
